Mission of Get $mart Idaho:

To proactively educate the citizens of Kootenai County, particularly young people, about the importance and methods of saving and investing and the proper uses and management of credit and debt.

Strategically the coalition seeks to do this in the following ways:

• Teach students about the power of compound interest and the opportunity costs of excessive debt.
• Promote, implement and develop financial education programs in cooperation with business, education, government, service organizations, places of worship and the media.
• Organize community based events and endowments to create sustainable and perpetual quality of life programs.
